Paul Boisvert on stage at MagentoLive France

With over 400 merchants, developers, commerce innovators, and partners in attendance, the 2017 MagentoLive France was the biggest ever. Magento would like to thank the members of our thriving ecosystem for coming together and sharing best practices and insights for driving continued success in a rapidly changing commerce environment.

2017 Commerce Trends and Insights

During informative sessions and networking events, MagentoLive France speakers shared important commerce trends and insights for 2017. Meeting and exceeding consumers’ heightened expectations was top of mind for many. 61 percent of consumers expect click and collect functionality. Returns matter too. 86 percent of customers said they want to buy online and return in-store. With omnichannel commerce continuing to mature, product content is a number one priority for merchants and social commerce is an emerging theme.

The results of delivering engaging shopper experiences were highlighted in multiple customer stories. Attendees heard directly from Alex Barbier, Digital Marketing Director for Oliver Sweeney, and Mathieu Delpuech, Global Direct-eCommerce Capability Manager for Mars Information Services, about their customer experience innovations. Product personalization was an important theme for both merchants. We also heard from Emmanuel Stern, CEO of The Kooples, in a fireside chat with Francis Barel, Head of Market Growth France at PayPal, and Marco Dalla Libera from Magento partner, Alpenite. Marco shared the commerce journey of Politecnico di Milano, the largest technical university in Italy, and the unique way in which they support a wide range of corporate and professional users of their market research.

Magento celebrated two eCommerce leaders who have been executing ambitious digital transformation initiatives at their companies. Congratulations to our Trailblazer Award recipients: Olivier Heitz, Director of Digital Information Systems at Bouygues, and Mathieu Delpuech, the Global Direct-eCommerce Capability Manager at Mars Information Services.
