With Fashion eCommerce and Magento, Show Me Your Mumu Increased Revenue 700%
The LA fashion eCommerce brand was ready to grow.
Based in Los Angeles, Show Me Your Mumu (SMYM) is a fashion eCommerce and apparel retailer for young women. It was launched by fashion entrepreneurs Cologne Schmidt and Cammy Hebert, and was recently described by a top fashion blog as “so effortlessly chic and literally perfect for work, a hot date, and/or Coachella.”
With sales and popularity growing, in 2014, the SMYM team realized they needed to redesign their Wordpress fashion eCommerce website. They joined up with the Magento Solution Partner, Guidance, to improve the overall shopping experience and create unique customer experiences. What did they need? To drive higher conversions and accelerate growth, of course.

For their new fashion eCommerce site, SMYM chose Magento Commerce, which was a great fit due to its level of flexibility and number of built-in Magento features. The Guidance team successfully integrated their email service and site search using Magento extensions with Bronto and Celebros, to send dynamic offers to SMYM customers’ inboxes. They also integrated uRapid flow for mass export/import, Amasty for out-of-stock notifications, and a host of other extensions from the Magento Marketplace to completely customize the SMYM back-end for their fashion eCommerce site.
A homepage desktop and mobile friendly website redesign gave the fashion eCommerce site a dramatic makeover, and helped to better connect the brand with its customers. Finally, Guidance reconfigured and enhanced the hosting infrastructure to accommodate large flash sales on the site. Now SMYM can offer their fashion designer rompers, denim shorts, and floral dresses at a discounted price, and throttle up or throttle down servers whenever eCommerce traffic spikes (like the week before Coachella).

As a direct result of the project, SMYM grew its online revenue a whopping 700 percent in 2016 compared to 2014. They also increased conversion almost 85 percent over two years. Their customers’ average order value (AOV) also increased, making 2016 a successful year for this fashion eCommerce business.
