The eyeglass retailer Vision E Boutique takes this personal connection between their glasses and customers to the next level. Their dream was to connect Middle Eastern customers with the latest designs from Europe, and keep them coming back for more. With a strong presence in the Middle East, Vision E Boutique also wanted to extend their business to sell online across the Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Delivering a truly personalized experience to their online shoppers would be the key to their global expansion plans. They envisioned a clean, friendly, and approachable online store focused on consumers who like to shop on their mobile devices. The company launched their online business in 2016 on Magento Commerce, but in 2017 they asked their Magento Solution Partner, Krish Technolabs, to freshen up their web experience to sustain their growth momentum.

Global expansion made easy.
From the initial design and discovery period to the launch date, their digital transformation project took just 12 weeks. Since global expansion was their top business driver, localization capabilities were a high priority. With the multi-store architecture and multi-currency capabilities of Magento, Vision E Boutique found it easy to sell online and expand their business into new territories. With country-specific catalog views, pricing strategies to support cross-border trade, and various payment options based on users’ locations, rolling out a new storefront was fast and easy. Customers visiting the new store can select their preferred language – English or Arabic, and the entire design of the site changes (English text reads left to right, while Arabic, like Hebrew, reads right to left). The goal was to provide customers from across the GCC region with a local and personalized experience, and the glasses they couldn’t get anywhere else.
With their ‘Try Me’ application, customers can use their webcam to virtually see how various frames look on their face, in real time. Powered by Virtual Try On by TryLive, eyewear from the Vision E Boutique is superimposed onto the users face, or onto images from Facebook, Instagram, or other social platforms. Users can even share the images on social networks and ask their friends, ‘do these glasses suit me?’ Meanwhile, native CMS features are coupled with customer segmentation and targeted promotions to drive regional campaigns and onsite offers, resulting in an overall decrease in cart abandonment of 65 percent.
Vision E Boutique achieved the visually stunning site they wanted to sell online. Leveraging graphical call-outs and large content blocks, the brand built a knowledge center to offer friendly and approachable product information. There, customers can see frame recommendations based on the shape of their face, understand different types of vision problems, and learn the basic anatomy of glasses. Armed with this information, customers can browse the comprehensive product catalog by category, brand, frame type, and more. Once customers have found their perfect eyeglasses, they can upload their prescription, and checkout within the product page itself, using a mini-cart.

The newly redesigned and upgraded Vision E Boutique site went live in October 2017. The store has since exceeded expectations on all fronts. The site is now available in multiple languages and supports customers from all over the GCC region. The personalized ‘Try Me’ experience has won the brand new customers, who are more loyal than ever thanks to a new loyalty rewards program. Vision E Boutique brand engagement is up and driving a 24 percent increase in orders, and a 47 percent increase in revenue quarter-on-quarter. With clear goals from the outset, Vision E Boutique has built a digital business that is winning across all borders.
